Tactiq is a fantastic option for real-time transcription and AI meeting summary capabilities. #6 Let's test the tool in a real meeting.
Next, I joined an instant meeting on Google Meet, and Tactiq's sidebar will automatically pop up. This sidebar is only visible to you only!
#7 Tactiq AI Sidebar (Detailed Description)
You will get a sidebar feature on your right-hand side that pops up during the meeting. It is not visible to your attendees. The Tactiq sidebar is your control panel during a meeting. Here’s what each section and button does, explained in detail:
1. Top Section: "10 Free Meetings Left This Month"
Tactiq provides a certain number of free meeting transcriptions each month; it resets every month. This is a counter showing how many you have left. Clicking on "Get more" takes you to an upgrade page where you can purchase additional transcription capacity or subscribe to a premium plan. Helps you track your usage so you don’t run out of free transcriptions unexpectedly.
2. "Transcribing: English" Section
This shows the language being transcribed during your meeting (in this case, English). If you click "Change," you can select a different language for transcription. This is helpful if your meeting is in a language other than English.
3. Transcript and Notes Section
a. Transcript Tab
This is where the live transcription of your meeting will appear in real-time as participants speak.
The transcript tab helps capture valuable meeting insights that can enhance organizational productivity by ensuring crucial details are not lost and can be easily accessed by team members across various tools to streamline collaboration.
b. Notes Tab
A space for jotting down additional notes during the meeting. This is separate from the transcript and can be used for personal thoughts, questions, or key action items. Keep your notes organized alongside the meeting transcript for easy access later.
4. Bottom Action Buttons
These buttons give you quick access to key Tactiq features:
a. Share Button (Green Icon)
Allows you to instantly share the meeting transcript or notes with others. Options may include sending it to a Slack channel, email, or another connected app. Simplifies sharing meeting outcomes with your team.
b. Screenshot Button (Camera Icon)
Allows you to capture a screenshot of the current transcript or any part of the sidebar. Handy for documenting specific moments or visuals in the meeting.
d. Pause/Resume Button (Orange Icon):
Lets you pause or resume the transcription process. Useful for skipping parts of the meeting that don’t need to be transcribed (like breaks or off-topic discussions).
Automatically detects actionable meeting insights and highlights them in yellow
After the meeting
You have the meeting transcripts.
You can only see my name because I tested the tool with two of my own Gmail accounts, so both dialogues are of Sanduni Yureka. If it was another account, the speaker identification would be different, which can be identified from their Gmail account.
AI Tools
This is the AI Tools panel in Tactiq, which helps you capture valuable insights from meeting transcripts using quick prompts. You can choose options like creating a short summary, a detailed summary, a summary with citations, or bullet point highlights. It also helps generate action items or combines a summary with action steps. You can ask custom questions about the meeting in the input box below, and the AI will provide tailored responses based on the transcript. Lastly, you can select the language for the AI output, ensuring it matches your needs.
Speaker Stats: Who spoke the most? or least!
Here, you will see who spoke the most during the meeting. This is beneficial if you want to be able to identify how many of your team members are contributing to a meeting. With that being said, this could also be a hindrance for those team members who are thinkers, more than speakers by nature. It could cultivate a forced contribution against their comfort space. However, on a broader spectrum, this could be beneficial for other scenarios where equal speaker time is a must, especially for big team decisions. where every voice counts!
Tactiq AI Pricing
- Free: $0 (Free forever)
- Pro: $12 USD/user/month
- Team: $20 USD/user/month
- Enterprise: Custom pricing (contact sales)
User Interface & Ease of Use
The user interface was considerably easy to navigate. Quite simple and easy to understand the basic workflow. However, their newest "Workflow" feature can be a little hard to understand at first. I have attached a few videos, and guidelines on how to navigate the workflow feature. A beginner, would get confused and try to stray away from this feature.
But I do see the benefit of this feature. It allows you to automate the sending of meeting notes directly to your CRM or other work platform like Slack. You need to have a little bit of practice to get the hang of the workflow features. Other than that, others seem pretty easy to understand and navigate.
