I’ve been writing about technology for the longest time. I come across many reviews and interviews that talk about these technologies, new inventions, and so much more. And this is when I came across AI note summarizer tools.
To give some insight, If I had to count all the documents I have to take notes on and summarize, I would probably have a mental breakdown, and my fingers might literally wither away from all the typing, organizing, and summarizing the notes.
This is why I was forced to test out AI summary generators, a year ago. And it is safe to say, it was the best decision I ever took. I enjoyed getting automated concise summaries and highlighting key points without having to lift a finger. Now it's your turn to experience good notes.
Let's get right into the comparison of the tools!
8 AI Note Summarizer Tools Compared
Before we get into an in-depth review, here's a quick comparison table, so if you are in a hurry, you can now easily choose the one that best meets your needs by simply browsing the table. (You are welcome!)

A Look at Jamie's Summaries + Review
Jamie's summaries are highly organized into various sections that flow seamlessly through the content you provide them to summarize. Jamie's summarization works in two ways.
1. Meeting summary
This is where you are either in a meeting with a client, team, or lecture. Jamie will accurately capture the audio of the meeting, transcribe it and, with the power of artificial intelligence, craft a very organized meeting note summary for you.
You will be provided with an executive summary section that covers all the key takeaways, and each key moment will be further explained in organized sections for easy reading and easy digestion of information.
Not only does it accurately take points, but it also intelligently captures action items and decisions in the right corner. This is where you will find the decisions and tasks of the meeting Jamie just transcribed.
2. Sidebar summary generator
Suppose you have content that needs to be summarized. With Jamie's SIdebar feature, you can easily get your content summarized in any format you prefer. Jamie's Sidebar feature is encompassed with the functionalities of ChatGPT, Claude, and Jamie's own LLM.

Otter's summary is indeed quite small and has failed to capture a lot of key moments. For an in-depth analysis of these meeting notes, please check out our article: AI Notes Generator: Top Apps Compared
Other notable points are that the sections are organized into two categories based on the meeting that was held. It also has a similar feature to Jamie, where you can ask questions about the meeting. Otter AI chat can answer any question you ask about your notes, and it will provide you with an answer.

A Look at QuillBot's Summaries + Review
Quillbot has three formats to summarize your lengthy content. They are
- Paragraph Format
- Bullet Point Format
- Custom Format: This is where you add a personalized prompt describing how you would like the summary to appear.
Let us take a look at each generated summary text one by one.
1. Paragraph Format
2. Bullet Points Format
3. Custom Prompt Format
QuillBot is a famous summarizing tool that doesn't restrict itself to only summarizing. It has a variety of features, as mentioned above. However, going through the summaries QuillBot has generated, they are quite good. It does what it says. However there are certain things that sticks out to me, that I wish were different.
One of them is taking away the content's personality. It has a more energetic vibe to the content, and in the summary, it just doesn't resonate with the original text's enthusiasm. I wish the summarized text had some elements to it.
Pricing
- Annual: $4.17 USD per month ($49.95 billed every 12 months)
- Semi-Annual: $6.66 USD per month ($39.95 billed every 6 months)
- Monthly: $9.95 USD per month
4. Summarizer.org
Just like QuillBot, the AI Summarizer tool has three different formats of AI note summaries you can choose from.
- Summary Format,
- Bullet Points Format,
- Best Line Format.
Let's look at what each format looks like!
A Look at Summarizer.org's Summaries + Review
1. Summary format
2. Bullet Point format
3. Best line format
What I like about the AI Summarizer tool is how it maintains the tone of the original content. The original content contained a happy, joyful, and exciting tone. And I like how the AI summarizer tool maintained that through the summary. One of the features that really caught my eye is the "Best Line" format. It narrows your content down to one line that best describes the entire piece.
This is so useful when you need to quickly identify what the document's main point or purpose is.
Pricing
Monthly Plans:
- Plagiarism Checker: $6.99 USD/month

Sembly notes with ai chat feature
Sembly notes with categorized sections
Overall, summary-wise, it tends to struggle a lot when it comes to spelling out technical jargon. And the Semblian, the AI chat function, doesn't correct the spellings either. It trusts the content and sticks by it.
Unlike Jamie, Semblian is not powered by popular LLM platforms like ChatGPT or Claude. This is another reason why Semblian lacks accuracy and reliability in its generated summary.
With Jamie, you can always fact-check the information with its sidebar feature to confirm if the information is accurate or not. Jamie has ChatGPT 4 integrated into it.
Here you can clearly see that Jamie's chat function can search the web and provide you with accurate information, as it is powered by ChatGPT 4 and Claude.
A unique thing I like about Sembly is its unique voice command function.
During a meeting, you can use voice commands like:
- "Hey Sembly, highlight this point."
- "Hey Sembly, bookmark this moment."
- "Hey Sembly, pause recording."
- "Hey, Sembly, resume recording."
- "Hey Sembly, stop recording."
- "Hey Sembly, take note of this action item."
- "Hey, Sembly, summarize this discussion."
Which I think is a pretty cool feature to have. It gives the user a hands-free meeting control experience and has a futuristic vibe.
Personally, I would be too shy to say this out loud during a meeting, but it's a fancy feature, I would say.
Pricing
- Free Plan: No cost.
- Pro Plan: $14.99/month.
- Business Plan: $27.99/month.
- Enterprise Plan: Custom pricing.

A Look at AI PDF Summarizer's Summaries + Review
The innovative feature about this is that you can summarize however you want by simply asking that chat function to do so.
Here you can see I inserted a random prompt to have a simpler summary, and it provided me exactly what I wanted. However, again, unlike Jamie, it is not powered by LLMs so you cannot fact-check information or search outside the PDF.
Pricing
- Free: $0/month for 1 user
- Pro: $12/month per user, billed monthly
- Team: $10/month per user, for 2–100 users, billed monthly

A Look at SciSummary's Summaries + Review
At first glance, I like that we are given so many options to choose from, from selecting the summary mode to the summary length we prefer to the language we would like it translated into. It's very efficient and possesses a user-friendly interface.
We are given different types of summary modes to choose from to fit our needs. Which I think is super efficient. This is amazing for users who want a quick grasp of summaries just the way they like them, even for those who want to use that summary to create a blog post.
Suppose you are doing an interview with a researcher, and you use Jamie to get an accurate transcription of the interview.
Now you want to maybe create a blog post of that interview because it was so fascinating and you want to share the knowledge with the world. You can simply copy and paste the transcription into SciSummary and have a blog post written out for you. (However, you need to have a premium account to get the generated blog post.)
Please know that Jamie can do this for you; with its Sidebar feature as well, you don't have to opt for another tool. But if you like SciSummary more, I think it's a great idea to have both.
Pricing
- Student: $0 for the first month
- Free Trial: $0 for the first 7 days
- Unlimited Summaries: $6.99/month or $34.99/year

AI summary generator
Summarizing-wise, it has done a pretty decent job of capturing key points, highlights, insights, etc. NoteGPT also functions as a video summarizer, condensing video content into concise summaries with timestamped highlights.
NoteGPT also has an AI chat function in which you can ask any question about the PDF file.
However, NoteGPT cannot search the web to get information or fact check.
Auto-snap feature
This is an interesting feature, where you have to download a Chrome extension of NoteGPT. What this does is that if you are on a page where it is most likely an article or a blog, the NoteGPT article pops up in the corner of your web screen.
This will then automatically summarize what you are looking at in real-time.
This is an amazing feature if you are doing research and want to grasp the idea really fast as you scroll along.
Suppose you are watching a YouTube video, NoteGPT will summarize the video as well. Here's how it looks.
Another key feature that is extremely useful for diverse teams is the ability to translate anything you click on the web.
It has so many languages, even languages like Sinhala, which is a language that not many tools include. Overall, the tool is amazing for its autosnap feature.
Pricing
- Basic: $2.99/month

5 FAQs on AI Note Summarizer Tools You Need to Know
What Should Not Be Included in an Objective Summary?
An objective summary should be brief and to the point, like telling a story about your day. Here’s what not to include:
- Your Opinions: Imagine you’re telling someone about a story you read. You wouldn’t say, “I think the hero is cool.” Just say what happened.
- Small Details: Don’t talk about every single thing that happened. If the story says, “The cat slept under the blue blanket,” just say, “The cat slept.”
- Your Feelings: It’s like if you watched a movie and told a friend what happened without saying, “It made me sad.”
- Quotes: Don’t use exact words from the story. Just tell it in your own words.
Jamie, the meeting assistant, helps you by capturing just the important parts of a meeting so you don’t get bogged down with every tiny detail.
How Do You Write a Summary for Cornell Notes?
Cornell Notes are a special way to take notes that make it easier to study later. Here’s how to write a summary for them:
- Draw a Line: Divide your paper into three sections. Draw a line down the left side for keywords, a big space on the right for notes and a small section at the bottom for your summary.
- Take Notes: During your meeting or class, write notes in the big right section.
- Highlight Keywords: After, pick out the important words and write them in the left section.
- Write the Summary: At the end, use the bottom section to write a short summary. This is like telling the whole story in a few sentences.
Jamie can give you a summary of your meeting so you can fill in your Cornell Notes later.
How to Take Smart Notes Summary?
Taking smart notes means writing down information in a way that’s easy to understand and remember. Here’s how:
- Use Your Own Words: Don’t just copy what you hear. Write it down like you’re explaining it to a friend.

- Use Bullets: Bullet points help you keep your notes organized and easy to read.
- Highlight Important Info: Use colors or stars to mark important stuff.
Jamie takes detailed meeting notes for you so you can focus on listening and thinking instead of writing everything down.

Summary notes are short notes that tell the whole story of something you’ve read or heard. Here’s what they include:
- Main Points: The big stuff.
- Key Info: A few extra details to help explain the main points.
